The Story Behind Today’s Gift

She’s not feeling very easy in her mind, body or heart right now.  Her body is struggling with Leukemia.  She won the first battle and beat it back into remission.  But the war isn’t over and the medication she’s on might not be enough.  Fear has become a frequent companion.  Some days she feels overwhelmed.  Other days she feels lonely and sad.  Sometime’s she’s filled with anger at the maddening injustice of it all.  She doesn’t want to let cancer, or any other problem, define her or change her.  But her world has changed.  All of this would be easier is she was back home and surrounded by her support system.  But she also had to sell her home and move across the country.  She’s now living on her mother-in-law’s farm in the middle of nowhere.  It’s not a kind or welcoming home.

Her friend and student wants to give her some support.  She knows her teacher to be a woman of remarkable strength and perseverance.  She knows how kind and patience she is towards others.  This friend is sorry that life has been so scary and frustrating lately.  She sends love from a distance.

Their Stone

Bloodstone is used by metaphysical healers to treat leukemia, as well as to strengthen and revitalize the entire physical body.  Bloodstone is also the stone of the Unconquerable Warrior, making it a good ally for anyone fighting a mighty war.  Bloodstone gives us courage to face the daily challenges and the greater problems as they come along.  It helps us to adjust to new circumstances quickly and to be pragmatic in our responses.  Bloodstone calms our fears, soothes our irritability, and gives us patience and solid grounding.  It fiercely promises us that we are not alone and that we are surrounded by powerful and protective energies.  It helps us to trust ourselves and to have faith in the mysterious Divine Plan.  Bloodstone assures us that we will survive and that this isn’t how our story ends.  This moment does not define us.  We will persist and we will once again know peace and joy.
