At their lowest point, the family found themselves battling twin evils, domestic abuse and breast cancer. So they moved into a domestic abuse shelter and enrolled in government assistant. It was the best decision. They had a safe place to live and heal. They had help navigating a path from Darkness back into Light. Mom got the cancer treatment she needed, beat the disease, and then enrolled in college. She earned her associates degree, graduating Cum Laude and she’s now pursuing her bachelor’s degree. Everyday they’re getting another step closer to their best life. They’re still getting some assistance, but mom always says, “this it’s temporary, we are working towards improving ourselves and our future.”
She’s her daughter’s hero. ♥
