James happily retired this past fall. He was looking forward to finally having time to do all those interesting activities that he couldn’t do while he was busy working and taking care of his family. James wasn’t expecting to immediately injure himself or to find himself in mourning after the unexpected loss of his cousin and several friends. So far retirement has just been depressing.
His daughter wants him to have a New Beginning so he can actually enjoy his retirement properly! She wants him to know that he is loved and that life still has many fun adventures left in store for him.

Stromatolite is a fascinating fossil that shows us the very beginning of life on earth. While it may look like nothing more than swirls and spots, it actually is a fossilized version of a colony of blue-green algae. In a few precious locations, “living rocks” have been found where the algae colonies are still growing and thriving. Two of the more accessible locations in which to see them are Shark’s Bay, Australia and the Bahamas. Even though it is generally considered an ancient organism and an ancient fossil, new algae colonies can form today in the right conditions.
