He stopped drinking two years ago. They had to do an intervention to make him see how bad it had gotten. But once he was sober, he could see the damage caused by his habit. He is a good man and he doesn’t want to damage anyone. So deep within himself, he made a real commitment to sobriety.
But now there’s a new challenge. He used to drink to numb his anxiety and make social situations easier. The drinking was just a cover-up, and the original problem remains. He feels anxious and stressed. He’s disappointed in himself too. So many years wasted, and for what? Who is he? What is his purpose in this world? The struggle is real and he’s fighting it every day.
His girlfriend has a different perspective. She sees his true value and she is very proud of his progress. She has faith in him and in his future. She hopes that one day soon, he’ll have faith in himself too.
Their Stone
Galena is a deeply grounding stone that helps us to keep a proper perspective and to not allow our emotions to run away with us. It gives us strength and inner resiliency so that we can face difficult situations and difficult truths without becoming discouraged. It helps us to remember that we are a good person with an important journey and many gifts to offer the world. It helps us to realize that we aren’t doing anyone a favor by devaluing ourselves or our progress. Galena is a powerful crystal ally when we are doing deep personal work; whether it’s facing our inner demons or discovering who we are. Galena’s steady energy supports us so that we can feel safe enough to transform our life in positive ways. It encourages us to keep evolving and to step further and further into our personal power. Galena also inspires us to stay firmly in the present and resist the urge to ruminate on a past we cannot change. It has a highly practical energy, inviting us to slowly but surely change our life and cultivate peace inside and out.

Galena is a Sulfide mineral that looks very similar to Hematite, an Oxide mineral. While both are silvery and heavy, they are easy to distinguish because Galena is much softer and has a grey streak instead of a red one. […]
