At Moonrise Crystals we believe that there’s a crystal for every person and every situation. This Moonstone Tourmaline was gifted to a very special person. They were nominated by someone who loves them very much.

For over a year, she’s been living in two worlds and has racked up a ton of sky-miles flying between them. During the week, she’s in Utah working on medical records technology in hospitals and clinics. On the weekend, she’s back home in Kentucky and mama to her little boy – he’s the fiercest little karate kid you ever did see. She’s got great support back home (kiddo stays with grandma) and she’s also made several intriguing new connections out West. Her work contract will be up in a few months and she’ll be making some decisions about what comes next for her family and career.

A work colleague (and newly-found “sister”) in Utah nominated her. They bonded over a shared love of rocks and crystals and the complex realities of being a working mom. She wants her to know that the Sisterhood celebrates and supports her now and in the future.

Their Stone

Moonstone Tourmaline is a fascinating combination stone. The shimmery white/blue Moonstone encourages women to rejoice in their unique feminine experience and in the bonds of sisterhood which unites women all over the world. It sings of new beginnings, wonderful possibilities and heart-centered living. The Black Tourmaline inclusions promise protection, strength and grounding, so that we successfully handle anything that comes our way. Together, these two minerals are one of the best stones for creating a healthy and vibrant work/life balance.

Moonstone Tourmaline is a fabulous combination stone.  Scientifically its what’s known as a Pegmatite, an igneous rock with large well-formed crystals.  It is mostly white Orthoclase, better known as Moonstone, and Schorl, or Black Tourmaline.  This combination has been found in several locations, but most of the specimens on the market come from an area near the border of India and Pakistan.  Energetically, it combines the best of two individual minerals and is particularly good for balancing male/female and yin/yang energies.  It is also a fantastic choice for travelers who want to seek out new horizons while also being safe along the way.
