Petrified Wood has a calm and steady vibration

Petrified Wood sitting in a tree

At Moonrise Crystals we believe that there’s a crystal for every person and every situation. This Petrified Wood was gifted to a very special person. They were nominated by someone who loves them very much.

He offered to watch his baby grand-nephew, so that both parents could work and make ends meet.  It seems like the right thing to do.  He was in a position to help and he thought it might be fun.  After all, nothing keeps you young, like having a little one around.

Right from the start, he loved that baby boy.  He took him everywhere and did everything for him.  If the boy was a little bit “different” than other kids his age – so what? He loved that boy fiercely all the same. If the boy was crying, his Great-Uncle was there to comfort him.  If the boy didn’t know how to do something, his Great-Uncle was a patient teacher ready to guide him.  If the boy had his odd quirks, that didn’t bother his Great-Uncle one bit.  We’ve all got quirks, so what?  Learn to work around them, learn to work within them. That little boy is almost 10 now and calls his Great Uncle, “Pop Pop”.  His family now understands that the boy is autistic, but so what? That boy is okay with the world.

The boy’s mom credits her uncle’s love and support.  No one else could have treated her son so well.  There aren’t words to express how much he means to their family.

Their Stone

Petrified Wood has a calm and steady vibration that is very soothing to the body, mind, heart and soul.  It offers us stable support for whatever challenges we may be faced with.  It teaches patience, acceptance and great fortitude.  Petrified Wood dissolves any fears for the future and helps us to concentrate on the present moment and whatever matters most to us.  It reminds us to keep it simple and to give our energy to worthwhile pursuits.  It invites us to ask ourselves how we can make a positive difference, right here and right now.  It helps us to cultivate true wisdom and deep inner peace.  Petrified Wood also strengthens family connections, particularly across the generations.

Healing, Mineralogy, and History

Petrified Wood is a type of fossil created by mineral preservation.  When a tree is submerged in water and quickly covered up by sentiment, it is possible for the organic wood to be gradually replaced by silica minerals on a cellular level.  The fossil that is created is incredibly detailed, preserving every curve and ring.  The fossil can be a nondescript brown or brightly colored, even multicolored depending on which minerals preserved it.  Confers trees, like pine and fir, are the most likely to fossilize, but deciduous and palm trees can also fossilize.  Petrified Wood is a wonderful choice for grounding, patience and transformation.
