Sugilite has an exceptionally compassionate and generous energy

At Moonrise Crystals we believe that there’s a crystal for every person and every situation. This Sugilite was gifted to a very special person. They were nominated by someone who loves them very much.

She’s always smiling, always laughing. She’s the type of person that children and animals instinctively trust. She’s a lover, a healer, a warrior, a giver. She’s also a tough cookie who always comes back swingin’. She’s a survivor, full of grit and glitter.

A few weeks ago, she was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer and the odds aren’t good. She’s in her first round of chemo right now. When people ask her about the future, she simply says. “If I make it, then I wish to use the rest of my life to make a difference. If I don’t, then I hope that my life has made a difference.”

A dear friend nominated her for a Feel Loved Crystal. The friend’s words are beautiful, so I’ll let her do the talking, “She has already made a huge impact on this world, whether she knows it or not. She is an example of LOVE IN ACTON. And Love is the greatest gift of all.”
Sugilite is a happy stone of love, hope, courage and freedom. It acts as a Light in the Darkness and is a powerful ally when we are faced with overwhelming challenges. Sugilite protects us from all forms of negativity and gently dissolves grief and despair. It helps us to focus our thoughts and energy in positive directions and to look for opportunities to do good in the world.

Their Stone

Sugilite has an exceptionally compassionate and generous energy and it highlights that quality in anyone who holds this stone. It teaches us that when we live from a place of Love, all things are possible. Sugilite is also used by metaphysical healers to support cancer patients, especially those undergoing chemotherapy.

Sugilite is a famous purple crystal, but did you know the first one ever discovered was actually yellow?  The yellow variety was found in Japan in the 1940s, while the purple variety was first seen in South Africa in the 1970s.  They looked so different that it was several years before anyone realized they were the same mineral. Some collectors still call purple stone by its 1970s tradename of Lavulite.  Sugilite grows in metamorphic rocks rich in black manganese.  It is a stone of love, hope and acceptance.  It encourages us to be true to ourselves, rather than trying to conform to match everyone else.
