Impactite are a fascinating metamorphic rock. While most rocks form slowly, Impactites are formed instantly when a meteorite slams into the Earth, transforming the rocks inside and around the impact crater. Impactites are formed at the same time as Tektites, a natural glass created with the heat of the meteorite briefly liquifies the rocks. Impactites are never liquified, they are just softened and mushed together. Many impactites can be identified to a specific crater based on its mineral content. Impactites from Norway started out as a granite before the strike. Impactites helps us transform ourselves quickly and bring our biggest dreams to life.
Impactite Healing Energy
Spiritual Healing Properties
Impactite helps us to bring our biggest dreams to life. It gives us a feeling of deep grounding and security so that we dare to make bold changes and reach for the stars. Impactite encourages us to look up into the cosmos and consider the great mysteries and wonders. It is a potent tool for anyone who prefers to call upon the Universe, rather than the Divine, when evoking powers that are greater than we mere mortals. Impactite is a powerful ally when we want to figure out how we can make a positive impact on the world around us. In particular, it invites us to transform that which is old and no longer serving us and to bring forth something something new that serves the Higher Good. Impactite can be used to clear blocked chakras and meridians, including cases when the blockages date back to past-lives or ancestral trauma.

Emotional Healing Properties
Impactite can guide us to emotional freedom and dramatically change our life. It gives us a solid grounding of confidence in ourselves and in our ability to survive, transform and thrive. It reminds us that we are the ones who have the true power. We are the only ones who keep ourselves in chains and we always have the key that can release us. Impactite assists us in breaking through the emotional blocks that keep us from moving forward in our lives. It shows us that the most powerful force that holds us back is merely fear. Impactite encourages us to directly challenges our fears and to discover that the truth is far more manageable than we have been led to believe. It is also a wonderful stone for navigating difficult relationships where we have different worldviews. Impactite helps us to be diplomatic, to emotionally connect and to shift conversations in positive directions.
Mental Healing Properties
Impactite has a powerful impact on the mind, especially for people who tend to focus on smaller negative ideas, while ignoring larger and more complex ideas. It helps us to see bigger truths and understand what is really going on in the world and inside ourselves. It teaches us how to sift through our thoughts, emotions, outside evidence and personal experiences so we can determine what is real and useful. It helps us connect the dots between topics and to make correct conclusions. Best of all, Impactite encourages us to keep an open mind, to have “ideas” that can evolve rather than “beliefs” which are static. Impactite shows us the difference between believing something is true without evidence, trusting something is true because of faith in scientific and expert processes, and absolutely knowing something is true because the evidence is deeply understood and undeniable. Impactite amplifies the positive aspects of skepticism, so we can be more immune to propaganda and anti-intellectualism. Impactite simultaneously obliterates the negative aspects of skepticism, such as automatically ignoring scientific evidence or expert opinion because it is psychological uncomfortable or doesn’t match our personal worldview.
Physical Healing Properties
Impactite is recommended for anyone who is actively avoiding physical or mental problems, because it feels scary or overwhelming to acknowledge the situation or seek help. Impactite helps us to break apart the block in our mind that is enabling us to avoid facing the truth. It reminds us that the truth exists, whether or not we acknowledge it, and that we are unnecessarily hurting ourselves by avoiding it. Impactite gives us courage and strength to face unpleasant realities and to take appropriate action. It helps us to focus our attention on our most important priorities so that we can have a happy and healthy life. Impactite is a powerful talisman to work with when we need to clear any kind of blockages in the physical body, including those in the circulatory and elimination systems. It is also a powerful talisman when dealing with tumors and other undesirable growths that need to be cut out, shrunk or otherwise removed.
Geology of Impactite
Where does Impactite come from?
Impactite is found wherever impactite craters are found. Notable locations include Australia (Tasmania), Canada (Quebec), Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, and the United States (Arizona and Nevada).
Mining and Treatments
Impactite is hand-gathered on location. It is illegal to gather inside the crater and the immediate protected area, but is legal in the surrounding forest.

Mineral Family
Impactite is not a mineral, but rather a rock. As an easy way to understand the difference, think of rocks as being like cookies and minerals as being the ingredients which make up those cookies. Many different minerals are used to create a rock! Impactite is an Impact Breccia Jasper which is a metamorphic rock made up of broken fragments of different minerals and rocks that have been cemented together by the force of a meteorite hitting the Earth. Depending on the location of the crater, the composition of the Impactite will be different. In the case of Impactite from Norway, it is mainly Grantitic Gneisses with minor inclusions of Amphibolite and Quartzite

Impactite Formation and Crystal Associates
Metamorphic rocks are created when an Igneous or Sedimentary rock (or potentially another type of Metamorphic rock) is subjected to new pressures and high temperatures. This causes the atoms and molecules to rearrange themselves into new minerals while still in a hard, solid state. Normally this is a slow process, but when a meteorite hits the ground, it does so at a speed and temperature to make the process virtually instantaneous. The energy release from the meteorite strike may melt the ground into a liquid, which then cools and hardens quickly into a Tektite, or impact glass. If the energy release doesn’t fully liquify the material, but only softens it and mushes it together, then it becomes Impactite.
Impactite’s energy works well with its “friends” – crystal associates formed in the same geological environment. In the case of Impactite from Norway, try it in combination with Azurite, Bismuth, Black Tourmaline, Citrine, Emerald, Idocrase, Grossular Garnet, Hematite, Malachite, and Serpentine

History of Impactite
Impactite is a rare rock created from the impact of a meteor hitting the Earth. It is primarily composed of terrestrial materials, but some Impactites will also have small pieces from the original meteorite. Only a very large meteorite can create the heat and pressure needed to create Impactite, small meteorites don’t have enough force. Despite its rarity, it is fairly simple to identify Impactite since it is always found by a large crater.
Gardnos Crater of Norway is 3 miles in diameter and between 660-980 ft deep. Originally it was thought to be an extinct volcano caldera, but in 1990s geologists confirmed that it was a meteorite crater from a strike 546 million years ago. Gardnos Crater is a the most accessible crater in the world, because unlike any other crater, it is possible to drive a car into the center. Gardnos Crater is located inside a protected area, Metorite Park, and no Impactite is allowed to be gathered from inside the park. But the surrounding conifer forest is open to the public for camping, hiking, etc. Impactite is scattered throughout the area and can be gathered from the forest floor.
