Charoite is a rare purple crystal found only in the Sakha Republic in Siberia, Russia. It was discovered when the Soviet Union was building the legendary trans-Siberian railroad, the longest rail in the world. While digging a tunnel, some seemingly unremarkable stones were extracted. Eventually someone thought to polish one of these stones and a vivid purple emerged! I’ve been wanting a piece of Charoite for a long time. I’m glad that I bought one here. The quality is great for the price and it looks very similar to the ones pictured in the listing. I’m glad that I can trust this shop and not end up with a little ugly piece that looks nothing like what I had expected. AND! I got a pen with my order. Purple ink. I know people give pens away all the time, especially businesses, but I’ve never gotten one before. I don’t steal them, either. I buy pens. I feel like a temp buying supplies. Yawn. But, pen! Also, tea! It smells so lovely and I really appreciate that the ingredients were included because I could’ve been allergic to any of them. I’m not, but still. It was very thoughtful.
