Danburite
Energy Vibrations

Natural rough Danburite crystals are back-in-stock! It's hard to pin down their color - are they pink or white? Or are they a shade of palest pink that flirts with both hues? If you look closely you'll soon notice these gems sparkle and dance with rainbows. These are completely natural, so rough edges are part of their charm. Danburite is a wonderful love stone with a high vibration. It encourages us to laugh more and to follow the good advice of our guardian angels.

Danburite from Mexico

This Danburite comes from miners in Charcas, Mexico. The crystals most likely come from artisanal miners with permission to enter an industrial mining location. The polymetallic skarn deposit would be rich in metals such as Copper and Iron, but also minerals like Danburite.

This gem dealer is a family business in the USA. It is a husband and wife team without any employees. They both buy and sell at gemshows in the Western United States.

I first met this supplier on the last day of the 2017 Denver Gem Show. I took one glance at their booth and realized that we buy from many of the same lapidaries. We also love the same size of stones and the same high quality. But while virtually every other source sells in bulk bags, this wholesaler allows me to handpick the best and leave the rest. At first, we played by the rules of the mineral industry and didn’t discuss sourcing. But I know where their crystals come from. And they know, I know. And I know, they know, I know. We’re a very knowledgeable cohort.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, this relationship deepened considerably since I was able to restock with them when it was impossible to buy from my usual suppliers in South Africa and Hong Kong. The couple invited me to visit their home and allowed me to handpick for hours. After our business was concluded, we shared a bottle of wine and talked. Nowadays, we’ve been breaking the rules of the industry – we’re talking quietly but openly about ethical sourcing.

Danburite Healing, Mineralogy, and History

Published June 2017  •  Updated March 2024  •  Read Time: 5 minutes
Danburite is a lovely crystal that looks similar to Quartz.  But while Quartz crystals grow in pointed pyramids, Danburite has a blunted wedge-like shape and is slightly harder, similar to a Topaz.  It is usually white or colorless, but occasionally can be yellow or pink.  It was first documented in Danbury Connecticut, USA and was named after the town by a professor at nearby Yale University.  In the 20th century it became popular with metaphysical healers who noticed its high and sweet vibration.  It is a stone of peace and Light.  It is a favorite among reiki practitioners who channel Light either by laying-on-of-hands or through distance-healing. The crystals arrived safe & sound. Thank you! They are beautiful as always!

This Danburite is more lovely than I can express in words. It looks clear in some lights and subtly pink-peach in others, and when held in Sunlight it’s full of flash and rainbows. I also love that it’s a point, but not sharp enough to poke through a cloth bag or pocket. And it stands up! Its energy is as exquisitely bright yet gentle as it looks, a powerful yet subtle, enigmatic, loving energy. This stone seems likely to prove among the most important to my work of all those I have.

They just arrived in perfect conduction, they are beautiful.

  4. Beth S. (Kentucky) (verified owner)

It’s gorgeous with its dazzling internal angles and rainbows and its subtle pink color, but even more than its beauty, wow is it one powerful stone! And the perfect one for me just now.

I received my crystals this afternoon and they are so beautiful and amazing!! I will definitely mediate with each of them. Your kind words are appreciated more than you know and have lifted me up in a special way. Also, can’t wait to brew my tea. Thank you for this nice touch and my beautiful crystal stones.

  6. Paul K. (Massachusetts) (verified owner)

Received them yesterday. They all have a clear and powerful energy and I am super happy with them. Most of all: I didn’t need to cleanse them energetically, as I typically need to with stones from most other sources. You do a great job! Will definitely order again!

  7. Jennifer S. (Colorado) (verified owner)

I adore the white danburite! It’s so much prettier in person than I thought it would be, and I love how it looks like a polished crystal point! Since you mentioned it, I had to go looking for the slight pink, and under the right light, I found it! Very cool!
