Dragonstone is a rare healing stone found only in Limpopo, South Africa. It combines two closely related sorosilicate minerals, bright green Epidote and vivid red Piemontite. It was first discovered near Tshipise Hotsprings, which bubbles up near a dragon-shaped hill. This location coupled with the stone’s dramatic coloring immediately led to the nickname of Dragonstone. Several other rocks have this same nickname, including a stone from Australia that even has the same vivid coloring, but has a different mineral composition. In my review, I forgot to say that the 2 Dragonstones Julie chose for me perfectly complemented each other. They both had a nice blend of Green Epidote and Red Piemonite, but one had a little more visible green and the other had a little more visible red — they look so good together.
