Epidote
Energy Vibrations

Ethically Mined Epidote!! These fabulous fully-natural gems are legally mined with transparent paperwork, using practices that are both safe for miners and environmentally conscious. They are carbon-neutral and made possible due to sustainability partnerships. Moonrise Crystals is proud to be the first investor and partner in this mining project.

Ethically Sourced

Epidote from Peru

This Epidote comes from an environmentally conscious mining claim in Peru. Miners have safe conditions and are paid fairly. Moonrise Crystals is a financial investor and sustainability partner in this mine!

This mine and lapidary is a small business in Peru. The main business is the polishing factory which focuses on Peruvian stones.  The owner was a biologist and environmental activist in his first career, and brings this passion for ethics to his current business.  He is particularly proud of his legal contractssafety standards, and worker’s compensation package.  He also has a small mining claim which he mines in the most environmentally-conscious way possible.

I met this source online during the pandemic in 2021.  The owner sent out an email to crystal stores around the world introducing his company.  While most of the email talked about the quality and price of the stones, I was immediately drawn to his fair trade principles, which included legal contracts, health insurance and pension plans, safety standards, etc.  This kind of language is very rare!  I immediately contacted him and place an order.  We have had many conversations on What’s App about ethical issues in Peru and around the world.  I love speaking with him because he thinks like a scientist and an environmental activist.  So we don’t have to tread cautiously, we can speak boldly.

He asked if I thought the world would support an ethical crystal mine.  I told him I couldn’t speak for the world, but that I personally would.  A few weeks later I became a financial investor.  My first crystal order would include Black Tourmaline and Epidote that came from “my” ethical mine.

Epidote Healing, Mineralogy, and History

Published July 2015  •  Updated March 2024  •  Read Time: 5 minutes
Epidote is a common crystal that can be found all over the world, but only a few locations have collector-quality specimens.  It is typically green or greenish-black, but it can also be red.  A rare healing crystal called Dragonstone is a striking combination of green and red Epidote.  It is often found mixed with other minerals.  One of the more well known examples is Prehnite Epidote in which pale green transparent Prehnite is pierced by dark-green Epidote needles.  In its pure form it amplifies high vibrations.  It teaches us to become our Highest Self and to make sure that our walk matches our talk and that we live with joy and peace in our heart.
