Despite the name, Leopardskin Jasper is not a true Jasper. It’s actually a Rhyolite, a spotted igneous rock with a high silica content that can have a bright shine when polished. Depending on where the Rhyollite is mined, it can have a wide variety of colors and marketing names. The ones called Leopardskin Jasper are typically from Mexico, Peru or the United States.
