Despite the name, Leopardskin Jasper is not a true Jasper. It’s actually a Rhyolite, a spotted igneous rock with a high silica content that can have a bright shine when polished. Depending on where the Rhyollite is mined, it can have a wide variety of colors and marketing names. The ones called Leopardskin Jasper are typically from Mexico, Peru or the United States. The jaguar stone is huge and really cool! The markings are really interesting with multiple concentric shapes and different colors. The markings are more chaotic than the leopard skin jasper.
