Larvikite is an iridescent igneous rock found in Norway and in Ontario, Canada. It is sometimes called “Blue Pearl Granite” and is often used to decorate the face of important buildings, such as corporate headquarters in busy metropolitan areas. You may also have seen it used as fancy granite countertops in expensive kitchens. Larvikite is one of the rare Global Heritage Stones recognized by the International Geological Conference for having an important impact on human culture. You even put the info cards in alphabetical order!! The package was in my mailbox all morning with the sun out in full. I opened them around 11am, definitely time for them to get nice and warm. The Larvikite is a fascinating stone, substantial and no-nonsense, yet glittery and shimmery with exuberant blue flashes from every angle. I think it doesn’t want much daydreaming, but with all this flash reality is anything but grim. It’ll be interesting to see what this stone has to say as Saturn retrogrades back to Capricorn but then goes for real into Aquarius.
