Supply Chain for Lizardite

This Lizardite comes from the Dypingdal serpentine-magnesite deposit in Viken, Norway.  It is industrially mined for Magnesite, but some of the vivid Lizardite is set aside for the collector’s market.

This gem dealer is a Danish prospector. He runs a small one-man wholesale business. He prospects for stones across northern Europe and Greenland. Rough stones are sent to China to be drum-tumbled. Factory conditions are safe for workers.

I first met this source at the 2020 Tucson Gem Show. I was looking for a better source for Nuummite and found a new one that specialized in stones from Greenland and Northern Europe. Without reservation, I bought some of everything.
