This Outback Jasper comes from a small-scale mine in Western Australia. Small-scale Jasper mining in Australia has a low environmental impact and is safe for miners.

This supplier owns and operates a variety of small-scale mines in Western Australia.  The mining is mainly for jaspers and stone that can take a high polish.  All the mining is down with small construction equipment and hand tools.  The mining is safe and has a low environmental impact.

I met this miner briefly at the 2020 Tucson Show.  I had been aware of his mine for many years, but hadn’t been able to track him down directly.  I had previously being buying stones from his mine, that were sold to me by polishing factories in South Africa and Hong Kong.  By the time I found him, I had already spent most of my Tucson budget and didn’t need to restock anything yet.  Nevertheless, we had a nice chat and I was able to verify a few details.  On that first visit, he introduced me to a lovely little gem called Outback Jasper.  The miner has been in the business for about 30 years, prospecting and mining throughout Western Australia.

I received the outback jasper in the mail today, it is perfect, I am so happy with this one too, thank you again for taking your time to find it.

I adore my Outback Jasper! As soon as it came out of its wrapping it made itself known strongly and clearly. Yet, calmly and comfortably, not loudly. The patterning and color variations are fascinating, lending themselves to imagining and dreaming. Of all the Jaspers I’ve ever had in my hands this one may be my favorite.
