Ethically Sourced Pink Aragonite

Know where your crystals come from

This Rhodonite comes from an industrial Nephrite Jade mine in British Columbia, Canada. The exact mine is unknown, but Canada is one of the few countries that has adopted environmentally-friendly and sustainable mining practices. Canada has one of the safest mining standards in the world.

Learn More About Ethical Mining

This mine and lapidary is a family business in Guadalajara, Mexico. The father has been an Obsidian miner all his life, and his son runs a lapidary that specializes in polished Obsidian. Factory workers have safe conditions and are paid fairly. The business is also the exporter and sells at large gem shows in the Western United States.

Learn More About Ethical Lapidaries
I originally had fancy Obsidian from another source with more middlemen involved. I connected directly with my current source at the 2019 Denver Gem Show. They work exclusively in Obsidian, both pure black and rarer varieties such as Rainbow Obsidian, Gold Sheen and Silver Sheen. I learned that the father had been mining Obsidian his whole life and that when his children became adults, they decided to start a polishing factory and export it to the US. Their stock is exquisite, both the quality of the stone and the polishing techniques. I am very happy to do business with them.

1 review for Pink Aragonite

Maybe it’s looking forward to spring. The Pink Aragonite reminds me of a pink hyacinth. Its mingling of pale and wildly intense pink is more like a flower than a rock, an early bloom with playful color and sturdy roots.
