Rhodolite Garnet is a trade name that is used to describe pink and purple Garnets. It was originally used just for Pyrope Garnets found in North Carolina, USA, but is now used for any Pyrope or Almandine Garnets if it has the right color. I received my garnets, and the are all beautiful! It took a while to be able to see them in the sunlight due to terrible weather, but they were all stunning when I was finally able to.
The rhodolite and hessonite are awesome! I love holding them up to the light and gazing inside! I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to tell them apart easily, but the rhodolite has such a beautiful red-purple color while the hessonite is a warm orange-red.
