Seraphinite is a rare variety of Clinoclore that is found only in Siberia, Russia. It is a soft dark green stone with silvery white “feathers” that is found in an iron mine. The mine owner allows artisanal miners to remove this pretty gem using hand tools on days when the industrial mining isn’t active. It is named after the Seraphim, a group of angels described in the Bible as singing God’s praise and rejoicing in all that is holy and good. This is a very unusual stone. I’ve never seen anything like it. As one would imagine due to the name, there appear to be ‘feathers’ of white on the green stone. It’s really neat and the cube shape is cool. I don’t try to connect with angels or spirit guides or the like, but I would think that Seraphinite would be perfect for those endeavors.
