Supply Chain for Tiger Iron

This Tiger Iron comes from small-scales mines in Western Australia. It is most likely from Brockman Tiger Mine, but it could be from another mine in the area.  All of the mines are small open-pit and relatively safe for miners.  Because the entire rock is being removed, rather than just certain minerals, it has a low environmental impact.

This supplier is a family-owned mine and wholesaler in Perth, Australia.  They mine several minerals in Western Australia and trade with mine owners in other parts of Australia.  Some of their stones are sold directly to lapidaries to be polished and re-sold, while others are sent to lapidaries to be polished and then returned to the family business.

I met this supplier at the 2023 Denver Show when a huge polished Tiger Iron standing next to glossy photos of Australian wildlife caught my eye.  A quick glance confirmed that almost every stone on the table was from Western Australia.  I introduced myself and was delighted to meet a friendly miner.  While I often have to casually tiptoe around ethical questions, he and I struck up a rapport and were able to speak freely.  The booth wasn’t busy so there was time to talk.  We discussed environmental protection in the Outback and mining reclamation projects.  He shared how the various Australian mine owners do business with each other and was able to confirm several of my assumptions and suspicions.  He’s a lovely human and I am excited to do business with him for many years to come.

Tiger Iron Healing, Mineralogy, and History

Published February 2016  •  Updated August 2024  •  Read Time: 5 minutes
Tiger Iron is a sedimentary rock that combines the energies of Gold Tigers Eye, Red Jasper, and silver Hematite.  It is found only in Western Australia in small-scale mines.  It was nicknamed Mugglestone long before the Harry Potter books were written, but some people now call this Harry Potter Stone!  The three minerals that compose all have energies that resonate with strength, grounding, and power.  Tiger Iron takes all those energies and cements them together for an incredibly potent vibration.
