At Moonrise Crystals we believe that there’s a crystal for every person and every situation. This Vesuvianite was gifted to a very special person. They were nominated by someone who loves them very much.
All she wants is to love and be loved, to respect and be respected. Why is that so difficult? She’s trying so hard and no one seems to see it. She thought this new guy would be different, but he’s the same song, different verse. People say she needs to “love herself more” and “have better boundaries” and damn it she’s trying! But it’s not that easy to change the beliefs and behaviors of a lifetime. It’s not that easy to find a new song.
Her sister loves her fiercely. She sees the struggle and wants to help. But she knows that some battles can only be fought and won within. So she says “I love you” and tries to find ways to show her that she’s priceless.

Vesuvianite helps us to feel safe and grounded enough that we can explore difficult issues. It invites us to examine our basic emotional responses, like fight, flight, fawn and freeze and ask ourselves why we respond to situations the way we do. If we are unhappy with out instinctive response, Vesuvianite’s energy gently holds us while we problem-solve and work to create new habits, boundaries and beliefs. It reminds us to take good care of ourselves, on a very real and practical level. Vesuvianite teaches us that we must be good to ourselves because that’s how we tell the world how we expect to be treated. Vesuvianite promises us that we are good, we are worthy, we are important, and we deserve to be happy.

Idocrase is a synonym for the mineral Vesuvianite. While Vesuvianite is the more proper name scientifically, Idocrase is often used in the jewelry and metaphysical industry to refer to the gemmy translucent crystals. The crystal can be formed in metamorphic or igneous rocks, but it is famous for its close ties to volcanos. The gem was first seen on Mount Vesuvius, a volcano which towers above Naples, Italy.
